About Us

Baxter School of Motoring is a family run business, with the orginal driving force being Betty and Alex Baxter who established the school in 1965. Their experience, expertise, conscientiousness and concern to bring out the best in their pupils meant that the reputation of Baxter School of Motoring spread beyond Strathaven and throughout Lanarkshire - so much so that it is now the longest-established school of motoring in Lanarkshire with one of the highest pass rates.

The business was passed on to their son Kenny and daughter Evelyn, along with the standards and commitment of a job well done and pride in the family name being recognised as a standard of excellence.

Convenience for the learner is always a consideration and so you can be picked up from your home, college or place of work throughout Lanarkshire and the south side of Glasgow.

Comfort for the learner driver is considered a necessity. Baxter cars are modern with dual controls and air conditioning - all part of the package to make learners feel confident and comfortable. We have both manual and automatic vehicles.

All of these points are there for the purpose of achieving our students' goal - a pass in their driving test. And we have an excellent pass rate.
